Bermuda cruises are controlled by its government. They may have different schedules but they are all published in annual basis for the reference of tourists. As for this calendar year, there will be 170 aquatic tours which have 143 regular and 27 occasional calls that are mostly in the months of April, September and October. It includes 10 one-day visits of the Crown Princess that can accommodate 3, 000 passengers. The projected port itinerary for Bermuda cruises 2006 will be able to reach the summit of its journey from Cape Liberty in New Jersey down to Hamilton. Empress of the Seas will be originating from Philadelphia that will arrive in Saint George on a Monday afternoon, replacing Horizon. There is also the Norwegian Crown that comes not only from Philadelphia but also in New York which returns back on Tuesday. From Boston, the Norwegian Majesty will duck in Saint George as well.
Explorer of the Seas will also join the Bermuda Cruises; it will depart from New Jersey substituting the Voyager of the Seas and alternates with the Grandeur of the Seas from Baltimore. Both will disembark at the Royal Naval Dockyard. The likes of the Jewel of the Seas, Golden Princess, Carnival Legend and Noordam are mostly sporadic.
Vessels Growing each year, the average size of ships being constructed differ especially that one of the country’s main thrust is to promote tourism. An example is the Royal Carribean that was able to launch a 158, 000 ton ship that can carry about 3, 600 individuals.
Carnival Legend, in the otherhand has already ordered twelve new ships to be hopefully ready by 2009. All are far more huge than the 700-foot boats presently seen in Hamilton and Saint George. There are also some that said the mentioned company is developing a 200,000- ton monster that can have a capacity of 5, 000.
Most of the transportation companies told the government that the smaller ones will soon be out of service within the next three to four years. The novel humongous creations will be too big to navigate the Town Cut, Saint George and Hamilton Harbor as well as in Two Rock Passage. However, they are not yet fully decided to take the steps because they are afraid to lose the thousands of excursionists that have been the factor why their economy have boosted.
