Where exactly does one go to find help and information about a debt consolidation loan? The advertisements are totally confusing. There is all that hype about how easy the process is and how a debt consolidation loan can just fix your financial situation up with no sweat. You probably don’t believe all the hype, and you are right not to believe it.
Still the question remains, how do you find out the facts and find the help that you know that you need?
There are a couple of places to look. The first one is to contact CCCS (Consumer Credit Counseling Services). CCCS is a nonprofit organization that can help you figure out what you need to do about too much debt. They do have answers. All of those answers are NOT to borrow money. But there is no way to know what will be recommended for you until you take your financial records and either go to a CCCS office or contact them online. Provide them with the information they need, and answer all of the questions.
You can, of course, go out looking for a debt consolidation loan on your own, but that isn’t a very wise choice to make. It really IS a financial jungle out there.
The other option is to contact one or more (possibly several) debt consolidation companies. Talk to the debt counselors and find out what each of them thinks will be a good (and doable) solution to your financial problems.
There isn’t a one-size-fits-all debt consolidation loan, and there certainly isn’t a one-size-fits-all debt solution. The debt consolidation companies can explain the loan options to you, and they will recommend what they think is your best solution. But the final decision will always be up to you.
