Figurative language and poetic elements used in everyday speech can be confusing. Someone learning a foreign language will tend to take things quite literally. Through observation in real-life situations the student can understand the more subtle factors in communication.

There are ample opportunities for students to work with people who speak the desired language as their native tongue.
