Aside from giving the world the likes of Faith Hill, Johnny Cash, Amy Grant and Jimi Hendrix, among the others, that all originated from this city, it continues to produce sounds that have been attracting tourists from all over. The very reason why Nashville music happenings are abundant each year as it has also been part in boosting their tourism industry.
Nashville music happenings can range from annual tradeshows to broadway entertainments. In 2004, the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) celebrated their last display in Nashville after more than a decade of having the metropolis as its official venue. NAMM is recognized as the largest exhibit of audible products that are well attended by professionals, retailers and media. Today, the organization continues with the tradition that has been practiced but held in two different locations, Austin in Texas and Indianapolis in Indiana.
Aside from the number of events that have been drawing an influx of visitors in the metropolis, the many Nashville music happenings have also been the reason why there are a lot of erected structures specially intended for first-class production numbers. One of the sites is the new Schermerhorn Symphony Center that is inspired by the best of seven performing sites in Europe including that of Palau de la Musica Catalana in Barcelona, Spain and Konzerthaus in Berlin, Germany.
Schermerhorn Symphony Center is projected to be a favorite place for future Nashville music happenings. The center has been named in honor of Maestro Kenneth Schermerhon who spearheaded a symphony group from the city for more than twenty years. One of the areas dubbed as the Laura Turner Concert Hall has been designed by an acoustic team who worked closely with architects and engineers in creating a space that wants the human encounter to touch the soul.
There is also the Ryman Auditorium which was completed in 1892 originally as a Union Gospel Tabernacle for religious gatherings. Not long after, the building has been the residence of the famous Grand Ole Opry. One of the Nashville music happenings that have featured timeless artists such as the epitome of versatility, Patsy Cline, it is actually regarded as the oldest radio program in a global scale which until now, is very much active in the scene.
Today, Nashville music happenings are testaments in justifying the title of “Music City.”
