The vocational education act that was passed by “Cark D. Perkins” is the several laws that were passed in order to further improve and enhance that quality of vocational education. The said vocational education law was first endorsed in 1984 by the federal government. It was then resanctioned in 1998. The vocational education act that awas named after “Carl D. Perkins” is intended to boost the technical and vocational education quality of the United States and at the same time facilitate the growth of the economy.

The said technical and vocational education act was once again resanctioned by President George W. Bush on the 12th of August 2006. There were several revisions of the said vocational education act. The three most prominent revisions are as of follows; the usage of the word “vocational education” was replaced with “career and technical education”; continuing the “Tech Rep Program” as an independent federal financial support flow in the bounds of the legislation; and lastly, the maintenance of the financial support at 5 percent allocation of a particular State.

Other than the above mentioned revisions of the vocational education act, there are also additional requirements for certain “courses” (specifically ” “programs of study”) that associates both the academic and technical subject matter on both secondary and post-secondary levels. In addition to that, it also aims to build up the accountability provisions to a local level in order to guarantee constant improvement of the program.

The said vocational education act will also provide a considerable amount of financial support (roughly around US$1.3 million) by the federal government for improving the quality of the career and technical educational courses of the 50 beneficiary States of the United States of America.

The agency that will oversee the said vocational education act is the “Office of Vocational and Adult Education” (or “OVAE”). The said government agency is a part of the “United States Department of Education” and is supervised by the Undersecretary of the United States Department of Education. The Undersecretary is responsible for overseeing and implementing the policies, programs and activities of the Office of Vocational Adult Education.
